What you will need:

– 1 medium cabbage (about 2 lbs.) – ½ cup water – 2 tbsp. butter – 1 large garlic clove, minced – ¼ tsp. red pepper flakes or to taste – ¾ tsp. salt or to taste – ¼ tsp. pepper or to taste

Quarter the cabbage, remove the core, and slice it into strips.

Add the cabbage strips to a large, non-stick pot or skillet and add the water. Bring to a boil, cover with a tight lid, and cook over low heat for 7-10 minutes (depending on how soft you want the cabbage to be).

Once cooked, move the cabbage to the sides of the pot and add the butter, red pepper flakes, and garlic. Allow the butter to melt and the garlic to cook in it for 30 seconds.

At this point, stir the cabbage and season with salt and pepper to taste. Turn off the heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve, garnished with fresh herbs.
