There has been enough said about crepes. We get it. They are good.
Growing up in Ukraine, we had crepes pretty often on our family table. Usually, they are stuffed with mushrooms, meat, or sauteed cabbage for savory flavors, and with jam or cottage cheese and raisins for the sweet tooth. I liked the sweet ones most.
I have to confess that I am not a big fan of Ukrainian cuisine. The majority of our dishes are too heavy. Most of our salads are mayonnaise based. But there are some outstanding dishes too. Our beet soup (borscht) is really great, as well as stuffed cabbage and some others. I will make sure to post these recipes so you guys can tell me how you like them.
There are many crepe recipes out there, but I haven’t seen this one. It’s been in my family for generations, and never failed. The only change I made is substituted sugar for honey.
Today, we are having a sweet variation of crepes for breakfast. Just coffee, crepes and fresh strawberries… To good to be true.
