BROCCOLI BASICS
- Shopping. When shopping for broccoli, choose firm stalks, with tight florets, and crisp green leaves. Avoid yellowed or flowering florets. The cut ends of the stalks should be fresh and moist looking.
- Storing. Store broccoli unwashed in an open plastic bag in the refrigerator (Do not keep the bag sealed!). Consume fresh broccoli as soon as you can as it will not keep long. If bought very fresh, it will stay in refrigerator for up to 10 days.
- Cooking. You can steam or boil broccoli for this recipe.
